A Simple Trauma-Recovery Roadmap

Trauma recovery itself is not simple.

We are dealing with an ongoing process - not a one-time, fix-it-and-you're-done kind of situation here.

There is no such thing as a 10-step list that will get you there in 90 days.

And to make things even more complicated, we all have our own convoluted layers of emotional, physical, financial, and social experiences that muddy the waters even more.

I have found myself so frustrated by even the concept of trauma recovery that I sometimes just shut down.

It's messy business.

And it's long.

But I still believe there is hope and help to be found as we tune out the chaos and quiet all the noise long enough to find the tools and resources that are the most helpful to us personally.

I have read so many books and watched so many videos on trauma recovery that I feel like my head is going to spin at times, but every once in a while, I come across a resource that just simplifies it all and puts it into perspective.

And this article is just that.

A concise road map that is only one blog-post long. You don't have to read a 400-page clinical resource to understand what it is we are dealing with.

If you are going through trauma and/or trauma-recovery, I highly recommend this article as a resource to come back to whenever you feel like you don't know where you are or what you are doing in your healing journey.

I have no affiliation with this website or the writers of the article whatsoever, I just found it through a search and felt like it spelled things out in a way that made sense to me.

Now I have to somehow accept that the four stages aren't actually linear and that I will most likely move in and out of them my whole life.

We got this, right?!

Lots of love,

Julia
